While some publishers have chosen to continue the ad-supported model for iPad magazines, the big guns like New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and AP are opting for a subscription model.
There is no information on pricing, but we expect most monthly subscriptions to be under US$10.
From another angle, charging for AP content makes perfect sense for the AP because they have a steady revenue stream from publisher subscriptions. By giving away free access to their product, it only hurts the publishers who provide them with their bread and butter.
